Over the last few years the industry has come together to form the FICC (Formwork Industry Consultative Committee). The FICC was established & facilitated by SafeWork NSW to develop an updated Formwork Code of Practice & competency framework to improve the safety performance of the industry as a whole.

It is through the above process that a number of reputable formwork contractors have come together to form the first formwork trade association to be known as the FIA (Formwork Industry Association of Australia), following industry’s demand for a peak body to provide safety information and support for formwork businesses needing to develop a pathway to higher safety standards within the industry and to ensuring all workers return safely home to their families at the end of the working day. 

The FIA is essentially dedicated to the ongoing development of the highest standards of safety training, equipment and operational competency of all persons working in the formwork industry.

The organisation is a not-for-profit entity, with any profits or excess revenues generated from memberships and activities diverted back into the organisation for research and education purposes.
